AION 2 pets: a practical collection guide

Choose a companion, find its souls, and plan your next upgrade.

This AION 2 pets guide connects the library above with the farming map, Insight calculator, and collection checklist. Start with a pet you want to unlock or a stat you want to improve. You can then compare its recorded rewards, check its acquisition sources, and decide what to work toward during your next session. The directory currently covers 206 companions; each detail page keeps the relevant level rewards and source links together.

How to choose AION 2 pets for your collection

Use genus as your first filter when comparing pet rewards. Open a companion's detail page and read the Owned Effects at each Pet Insight level before committing resources. The displayed values are totals for that level, so do not add the level-one and level-two rewards to the level-three table. Acquisition matters too: a pet with suitable rewards is only a practical target if its listed sources fit the content you can access.

  • Cogni pets list HP, Critical Hit, and Might. Inspect Krall Laborer as an example of this genus and compare its soul sources with other Cogni companions.
  • Fera pets list Mount Ground Move Speed, Accuracy Bonus, and Dexterity. Fossa is one example with both quest and monster acquisition categories.
  • Natura pets list Stamina, Critical Hit Resist, and Precision. Open Forest Specter to see how these rewards progress across its three Insight levels.
  • Varian pets list Mount Sprint Stamina Cost Reduction Rate, Evasion Bonus, and Constitution. Swarm provides an example with recorded soul locations.
  • Special pets have separate acquisition records. Check each companion individually; the current dataset does not list common-genus EXP or Owned Effect values for these pets.

These examples give you a starting point for comparison. Your next target can depend on an unfinished quest, a region you already visit, or a companion you simply want to collect. For a longer decision process, read the guide to choosing pets for your stats, then return to the library and filter the genus you selected.

Where to find pet souls and farming locations

Search the library by pet name, monster, or region, and use the “How to get” filter to narrow the acquisition categories. Open the matching pet page before starting a farm. Its source list helps distinguish monster drops from quests, chests, achievements, merchants, trials, and shops. A broad category is a starting point; follow the linked record for the specific item or activity associated with your chosen companion.

The AION 2 pet farming map currently includes 157 companions with recorded coordinates across Verteron, Altgard, and Chaotic Lower Reshanta. Select a pet to see its monsters, then zoom or drag the map to inspect their recorded spawn points. Clicking a marker shows the monster name and coordinates. You can also open the map directly from a pet's detail page to keep the same companion selected.

Before you travel, compare the monster and region with the content available to your character. Map markers identify recorded spawns; they do not establish a soul drop rate or guarantee a drop. If a pet has no map coordinates, check its other acquisition sources rather than assuming it cannot be obtained. The pet and soul acquisition guide explains how to move from an unlock source to duplicate souls.

Pet Insight upgrades and Genus Insight planning

Pet Insight describes the progression of one companion. Genus Insight tracks progress within its genus. Keep the two separate when deciding how to spend souls: an individual pet upgrade and a Genus Insight Analysis use different resources and serve different purposes. The Insight calculator provides separate planners for duplicate souls, collection EXP, and analysis costs so you can work on the relevant budget.

For a common pet already at level one, reaching level two requires 25 duplicate souls, followed by 75 more for level three. That is 100 souls from level one to level three, excluding the initial unlock. Enter your current level, target level, and unused souls in the planner. For example, a level-two companion with 20 unused souls needs 55 more to reach level three.

A common pet unlock grants 500 Genus Insight EXP, and each of the next two levels adds 250. When using the collection EXP planner, enter each distinct pet once at its current level within the selected genus. For analysis budgeting, choose the number of locked slots and planned analyses. The result estimates Soul Crystals and Kina at that fixed lock count; it does not predict which properties you will roll.

Build a collection plan you can return to

Use the plus button on a library card to mark a companion as collected. The “Not collected” filter then helps you find remaining targets, while “Collected” lets you revisit pets you already own. A useful session plan is to pick one missing companion, inspect its acquisition page, and decide whether you can pursue that source alongside the activities you already intend to complete.

Open My collection to review your checklist and export a JSON backup. Progress is saved in this browser on this device, so export before clearing browser storage or moving to another browser. Importing a valid backup merges its companions with your existing checklist. The collection is manually maintained; it does not read your character, claim rewards, or synchronize with your game account.

AION 2 pets FAQ

Which pet should I collect first?

Start with a genus whose listed rewards match your goal, then compare sources you can access. Search for a familiar monster or region if you want to build collection progress while following your usual activities. Review the pet's level rewards and acquisition details before choosing. The directory provides comparisons, but it does not establish a universal best pet or a fastest farming route.

Why does the library show more pets than the map?

The library includes all 206 records in the current dataset, while the map includes the 157 with recorded coordinates. Other records can list acquisition categories without a mapped monster spawn. Open the companion's page to see those sources and the linked community record. Missing coordinates mean the map coverage is incomplete for that pet, rather than confirming that it is unavailable.

How do mounting, gliding, and transformation relate to pets?

The current common-pet records list Mount at Pet Insight level one, Mount Glide at level two, and Transform at level three. Check the specific companion's reward boxes before planning an upgrade, particularly for Special pets. The pet transformation guide explains the listed progression and how to calculate the duplicate souls remaining for your target level.

Can I use this guide without signing in?

Yes. The library, individual pet pages, map, and calculators are available without an account. Search and filters use JavaScript, and your checklist uses local browser storage. If interactive features cannot load, the complete pet directory still links to readable detail pages. For a second device, export your collection backup and import it there to carry your manual checklist across.

Where do the pet records come from?

Pet facts and map coordinates are attributed to Wikily, with source links on the relevant pages. Our data sources and coverage notes explain what the tools include and where values are missing. Names, availability, and rewards can differ by region or patch, so compare the record with your game client if something has changed.
